We are also now inviting submissions for the CLEF Best Paper Prize, which recognizes the best papers in labour economics, broadly defined, written by current students at, or recent graduates (Ph.D. completed in 2025 or in 2026) of, a Canadian university. Individuals who wish to be considered for the prize should submit their paper to the conference through the conference submission portal, and should indicate in the submission form that they would like to be considered for the prize. The conference will include a special session where the winner and two runners-up will present their work. In addition to receiving a cash prize from CLEF, support for conference travel expenses for the prize winner and the two runners-up will be sponsored by the UBC Stone Centre on Wealth and Income Inequality. Papers on the Canadian economy are encouraged. Full details about eligibility for the prize are available here: https://clef.uqam.ca/prize/
The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2026.
Notification of acceptances will be made by the end of January 2027. Registration details will be available shortly afterwards on the conference website. All attendees must register for the conference.
The Canadian Economics Association (CEA) expects all of its members and all participants at its public events to put respect for others at the centre of their interactions and, through their actions, to help build a respectful community, free of harassment and discrimination, in which economic discussions take place in a way that supports open dialogue, diversity, and intellectual integrity. All participants (attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff, and volunteers) of the CLEF Conference are expected to adhere to the CEA's Code of Conduct.
