Biography
I hold a professorship in economics at Cornell University and co-direct the Labor Dynamics Institute at the School for Industrial and Labor Relations. I received his PhD from the University of Bonn in 2006, and previously held positions at the University of Pennsylvania, Oxford, the London School of Economics, the University of Edinburgh and the European University Institute. I serve a fellow of the Econometrics Society and the European Economic Association and lead the NBER group on the Macro and Micro Aspects of the Aggregate Labor Market, and have been managing editor and chairman of the Review of Economic Studies.
